Concert at the Gateway

This was one of the coolest things that we have done in Utah.  Just one of those picture perfect moments.  I read about it in the paper and thought it would be fun.  Free Jon Schmidt concert, free hot chocolate and yummy cookies and the lighting of the Gateway Christmas tree.  It was a perfect Christmas activity!
There were a ton of people there, and we could even see Jon Schmidt performing!  He's so great. Love his performances. It's one of the few concerts we've been to since we've had kids.

I scored Benjamin a Santa jingle bell.  Loved it!  This boy stayed in the stroller the whole time, except when we pulled him out for pictures and to see Santa.  I think he's a little scared of crowds.  It made it easier to enjoy the concert though!
This tree is 50 feet tall - the largest lit tree in Utah!  It's lighted by 7 miles of lights, that's 100 000 mini lights!  That's more than the Martha Stewart recommendation of 100 lights per foot of tree! It had all different colours of lights too.  Really cool!
And surprise!  Santa came to visit!  We opted out of the sit on Santa's knee experience at that time, it was enough for Benjamin to see him from a distance.  He said, "Ho-Ho!" when he saw him.  Cute.

Maybe we will have to come back down to Utah again for the concert next year.
